In January 1888, Fraulein Sprengel gave Westcott authorization to sign her motto (Sapiens Dominabitur Astris) to any relevant documents. This was done on March 1, 1888 for the issuance of the Warrant of the Temple of Isis-Urania, along with Mathers’ and Woodman’s 7=4 mottoes (Deo Duce Comite Ferro and Vincit Omnia Veritas), declaring Mathers (‘S Rioghail Mo Dhream) as Praemonstrator, Westcott (Quod Scis Nescis) as Cancellarius and Woodman (Magna est Veritas et Praevalebit) as Imperator. The Golden Dawn as we know it was born.  Its first initiate was Mina Bergson, taking the motto Vestigia Nulla Retrorsum.
